Our Story
How Almost Impossible Records came about
My name is John Welch, and I have been writing lyrics for more than 50 years. My love for capturing snippets of life in verses and choruses has been set to music by online co-writers in Austin, Texas; Fort Lee, New Jersey; Nashville, Tennessee; Fort Myers, Florida; Wales, Great Britain; Toronto, Canada and numerous other places. So why did I not become a full-time professional songwriter? Because I was not moving to LA or Nashville or New York or anywhere else. None of those places were home. As Frank Sinatra once sang, "I did it my way." I just didn't know it would take this long. Also, my other goal in life was to help others make their lives better, achieve their dreams, develop a purpose for their existence — but I wasn't a millionaire philanthropist.
Good thing I'm not easily swayed from achieving my goals. If I had given up, I would never have been around to use AI to generate music for my lyrics. I know there are hundreds, maybe even thousands, of people who look at AI songs in a very negative light. But I saw it as a way to take my lyrics and create the music I heard in my head as I wrote the lyrics. Not being a musician or singer always prevented me from being able to tell my co-writers what I was hearing. No wonder they struggled to come up with melodies. With AI, that is not the case anymore. I have created songs that, in my opinion, are very, very good. I have songs in every genre in both male and female voices. I've even taken some of my lyrics and created songs in several different genres. But that wasn't enough. I was only satisfied with my need to create music.
And then I came up with the idea of creating Almost Impossible Records to achieve my other goal. Now I could sell those songs to create revenue that I could then use to feed and shelter the homeless, to provide free medical care to the sick, to preserve our beautiful Earth, and to give music lovers other choices when buying music.
What more could I ask for? Right? There was one thing… YOU!
